The giant squid (Dosidicus gigas) is found in the Pacific Ocean. There is a great abundance of this resource throughout the Peruvian coast. The different climates and currents allow our coast to be an area suitable as a habitat for this animal, extending over 500 miles.

The giant squid is commercialized in different presentations such as frozen fresh or cooked. It is consumed differently depending on the country, region, or market. Within the main markets, China—the Asian giant—stands out, and in the old continent Europe, we have Spain.
